A Raw Clip

July 24, 2008 at 5:20 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

We have spent this week watching and digitizing a lot of footage from Anthem. As Andrew would say, he works hard all day while I sit around and watch TV. Ha! It’s been a tiring week working through hours and hours of footage, yet it is so exciting to hear the stories again.

Today we wanted to give you the first sneak peak into one of our interviews. It’s a raw unedited clip, but something that God has been using to move and challenge me.

In the clip you are going to see Tim Brosnan who lives with his family in Austin, Texas. Tim runs a really cool organization called People Not Profit. Tim’s organization is doing some really amazing things in Austin and around the world. The stuff that has been striking me though, is how committed Tim and his wife are to following Jesus in their everyday life. They are doing some really simple yet powerful things in their neighborhood and it was incredibly inspiring to see it firsthand!

Enjoy the first clip from Anthem…

My eyes have seen

July 21, 2008 at 11:05 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

Hey guys welcome back to the Broken Voices blog! We hope you’re doing well. As always, thank you so much for walking this journey with us. We are starting another week still hard at work on cutting Anthem. We’re more grateful than ever to be a part of what is happening here. Please, continue to ask God to give us His eyes and ideas for the story as we shape and mold it this week. It’s amazing as we look through the footage to think through how much God did in our lives personally during our time in production.

Job 42:5 says “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.”

Recently God had slipped into someone I heard about, not someone I personally knew. In the process of making this film, He has revealed himself in fresh ways that I am still taking in, and I am seeing first hand what I have only heard of him doing before. The challenging part for me is wondering what changed, the work He was doing all around me or my ability and desire to take notice.

I hope wherever you find yourself this week, you could experience the true and living God. I am praying that we would be people truly falling more in love with God, not just knowing about Him or hearing of Him. Furthermore, that in the process we would begin using our lives to make known the loving king and perfect savior to a broken world who has never needed him more.

Thank you for your prayer and belief in this God and in us. Moving forward to what lies ahead…

Lexington, KY

July 8, 2008 at 4:30 am (Uncategorized)

As I type, the sun is rising to my left. We are heading south down I-75 and are about 30 minutes from Lexington, KY. Our bodies are tired, our hearts our full, our faith has grown, and our lives have been challenged. As Andrew said yesterday, it’s only the beginning…and that is exciting!

When we arrive in Lexington we are meeting up with some good friends and faithful volunteers, Mike & Clark. They drove all the way up here last night from Atlanta to help us on the last leg of our travels. We will be filming all day today in the RV to capture plenty of “road” footage. Clark & Mike will be following us the rest of the way so that we can have a camera filming us from their car.

Pray that God would provide safety and some really beautiful shots to help close out the film.

We’ll do our best to put together some Grand Rapids and Dayton highlights and have them up sometime today.

Even though our trip is coming to a close, we still have so much going on and so much to do. Please, please, please, keep coming to the blog to stay in touch. We will provide updates on the post-production of the film, future events, and other exciting BV news. I’m sure we’ll all be crawling into our beds for a few days when we get home, but post-production starts on Monday – so we’ll be back and in touch soon!

It has been a privilege to share this journey with you. Your thoughts and prayers have been a God given source of encouragement and support. Please keep it up – we need you!

Much Love,

Only the beginning…

July 7, 2008 at 7:22 am (Uncategorized)

We have reached our final city, and it is lush with corn fields and potatoes! Yes we are in Dayton Ohio today, we got in safely from GR last night about 8:00 PM and after a good nights rest are out in production for the last full day… Thoughts of home sound really nice, but it is also hitting all of us as pretty sad that we are coming to the end of something so incredible. As a team we have become a family, as friends we have become brothers and we have together witnessed God do the unthinkable.

As we get ready to head home tomorrow, the thing that keeps making me start laughing and my heart overflowing is that what we have seen here is only but the beginning. God is moving in our country, in and through peoples lives and I believe in the story He is writing our lives truly do have a role to play. I used to just say that, but now I believe that with everything in me. This film is only the beginning of an organization that I believe is going to be swept up into some amazing things, but these days you and I are all living are only the beginning of lives that are going to be radically used by God. It has been beautiful to get so many e-mails from people while on the road saying Andrew I haven’t even scene the film yet but I’m in to this God story, I’m all in and I want my life to count. I believe there is a true movement growing, a wave that is building and it will continue as we use our lives to join in the one true Anthem for the glory of our God.

Wow, that makes my heart skip a beat and it makes me so grateful for such a wild invitation we have been given. Thank you as always for your support of our team, this film and the vision behind it. But even more thank you God for inviting broken people to truly play a role in your plan of redemption for this broken world. More soon and a video from the road tomorrow am, we actually shot one but could not load it due to poor internet issues here. Love you guys, still blown away by your support…
